Traditional Greek Minced meat/Feta white cheese pie

FROM GRANDMA TO MOM, FROM MOM TO ME...

One of the oldest and most famous minced meat & feta white cheese pie recipe. It's made with 10 very thin handmade dough sheets.

It's authentic Asia Minor's recipe. From the town of Bursa, which was also populated by Greek (as my grandmother was) until 1921, when they were been displaced in today's Greek territories. 

They brought with them all the local culture and of course the recipes...

So, the family gatherings were coloured with all these flavours and memories from their lost home towns.

I, always remembered  her to sit on a low round table (sofa table) and work with the ultra-thin handmade dough sheets, a task that these days seemed to be very difficult for me.

It is very interesting to identify your roots and discover your ancestors' traditions through flavours!

It defines you as a personality because you know where you come from.

Νοέμβρης! Ο μήνας γενεθλίων, κυρίως των Σκορπιών. Τους ξέρετε τώρα αυτούς τους τύπους. Εγωπαθείς, κυκλοθυμικοί, αυτοκαταστροφικοί αλλά κυρίως επίμονοι, δηλαδή πεισματάρηδες. Θέλουν να αποφασίζουν, να καθορίζουν, να καθοδηγούν. Κοινώς "ψώνια", και καθώς ο αρχηγός αυτών, η υπογράφουσα, δηλαδή ΕΓΩ! αποφάσισα να εκτεθώ δια της γραφής γιατί πολύ απλά θέλω να με διαβάζετε! Και υπογραμμίζω το θέλω γιατί ο Σκορπιός, καλοί μου φίλοι, όταν θέλει μπορεί! (έτσι νομίζει τουλάχιστον) και όπως καταλάβατε αυτό είναι και το μότο μου. Άλλα βιογραφικά στοιχεία νομίζω ότι είναι περιττά. Έτσι λοιπόν σας καλωσορίζω και εύχομαι τα θέματα που θα αναρτηθούν να είναι του ενδιαφέροντος σας.
